Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before placing your first account with Apex Recovery Group.

Fees & Pricing

Costs & Fees

What is your fee structure?
Apex Recovery Group operates on a pure contingency basis — we charge a percentage of what we actually collect. There are no upfront fees, no retainers, and no monthly charges. If we don't recover anything, you owe nothing.
What percentage do you charge?
Our standard rate for accounts under 12 months old is 25–30% of the amount recovered. Aged accounts (12–36 months) typically fall in the 35–40% range. Complex or litigation-referred accounts are quoted individually. All rates confirmed before account activation.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Our contingency fee is the only charge. No setup fees, no monthly maintenance, no reporting fees, no cancellation penalties. Attorney fees for litigation are separate and disclosed in advance.
Is there a minimum claim amount?
We generally focus on commercial claims of $1,000 and above. For high-volume portfolios with smaller individual balances, we can discuss batch placement arrangements with adjusted rates.
Working With Us

The Process

What information do I need to place an account?
At minimum: debtor company name, contact information, amount owed, and copies of unpaid invoices. Supporting documentation — signed contracts, purchase orders, prior debtor communications — significantly strengthens your claim.
How quickly do you activate accounts?
We review and activate every account within 24 hours of placement. You receive a confirmation email with your account reference number and client portal login.
How long does the collections process take?
Many accounts are resolved within 30–90 days. Aged, disputed, or litigation-required accounts can take longer. We activate immediately and provide ongoing status updates.
Can I withdraw an account after placing it?
Yes. You can recall an account at any time before recovery. If collection activity has begun and the debtor subsequently pays you directly, our contingency fee still applies per our service agreement.
Common Concerns

Relationships & Results

Will collections damage my business relationships?
This is our most important differentiator. We open every account with a professional, diplomatic approach — giving debtors a clear opportunity to resolve before escalating. Many clients continue working with debtors after recovery. You control the tone and approach.
What if the debtor disputes the invoice?
We gather full documentation from you upfront and are prepared to address common disputes. If the debtor raises a legitimate dispute, we communicate it to you and work together on the appropriate response. We never settle claims without your authorization.
What if the debtor can't be located?
We conduct skip tracing using industry-leading databases to locate debtors who have relocated or gone dark. Finding debtors is a core part of our service — not an add-on.
Do you collect outside the United States?
We focus on US-based commercial debt. For international debtors, we can coordinate referrals to international collections partners. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
What types of debt do you NOT collect?
We specialize in B2B commercial debt only. We do not collect consumer debt, student loans, individual medical bills, or personal loans. Every account must be a business-to-business claim.
What happens if you can't collect?
You owe us nothing. That's the contingency model — we only get paid when you do. If we exhaust recovery efforts without success, we discuss options including legal referral or account closure.
